Jennie A. Janosec
Jennie A. Janosec, 98, formerly of Corry, Pa., died Tuesday at The Brookdale Place of Bath, Akron, Ohio.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1916, in Crabtree, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Wegzryniak Wotus.
Jennie was raised and educated in Crabtree. As a young woman, she lived and worked in the Pittsburgh area. She later moved to Corry, where she lived for a few years before moving to Butler.
In Butler, Jennie worked at the Nixon Hotel and later at the Holiday Inn where she was executive housekeeper for over 25 years. She retired in the early 1980s and moved back to Corry in the spring of 2002.
Jennie was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Corry. She enjoyed sewing and various crafts, including quilting. She also loved gardening and being outdoors.
In addition to her parents, Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Janosec, who died in 1972; one daughter, Barbara Janosec; two sisters, Stella Overly and Sophia Sarnicki; and six brothers, Robert, Frank, Albert “Abbey,” Walter, Julius and Richard Wotus.
Jennie is survived by two sisters, Josephine DeFabo of Greensburg, Pa., and Betty Nichols of Corry; and several nieces and nephews.
JANOSEC — The family of Jennie A. Janosec, who died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, will receive friends Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 203 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark A.
