BUTLER TWP — The sixth annual Tim McNerney Memorial Golf Outing will take place Aug. 4 at Aubrey’s Dubbs Dred golf course.

Registration fee is $100 per golfer for the four-person scramble, which includes lunch at the turn, beverages, a steak dinner and prizes. Registration deadline is July 21.

Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund for Knoch High School athletes.

Registration is at 8 a.m., shotgun start at 9 a.m.

[naviga:h3]Hunter safety courses[/naviga:h3]

Four hunter-trapper education courses are upcoming in the area. They include:

July 14, Peaceful Valley Campground, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

July 21, Cranberry Township Municipal Center, Skills Course, 8 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Aug. 14-15, Butler Township Recreation Building, 5 to 9 p.m. both nights.

Aug. 25, Valley Dam Sportsman Snowmobile Association, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Online registration on the Pa. Game Commission website is recommended for all of these courses. Traditional classroom training is free of charge.
