Man still sought in case
The manhunt continues for a suspect accused of ramming his car into the side of his father's porch in northern Butler County while his father was on it.
State police said Cody A. Isaacson, 27, of Slippery Rock Township, who is wanted on a warrant for felony assault, was able to avoid capture Thursday evening in Prospect.
Troopers spotted him around 5:50 p.m. on the 100 block of New Castle Road, but he fled into a wooded area. Jackson Township police's search dog was later called in, but to no avail.
Isaacson was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt and a black hat. He is believed to be in or around Prospect. Police caution that he could be armed and is considered dangerous.
“We're actively looking for him,” Troop D commander Capt. Steve Ignatz said Friday morning, “and were following up all calls we get about him.”
Anyone with information about Isaacson's whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100 or 911.
Police obtained an arrest warrant Thursday for Isaacson on charges stemming from the Sept. 22 porch-ramming incident in Slippery Rock Township.
He is accused of getting into an altercation with his 53-year-old father at their home on the 3400 block of Route 8 around 9:40 a.m., during which he allegedly punched the older man in the face and threw a candle at him.
Later, while the father was on the porch and on the telephone calling for police, according to charging documents, the suspect punched the victim again in the face, causing an unspecified injury.
Police said Isaacson subsequently got into his car and “rammed it into the side of the porch, causing damage to the porch while the (father) was still on the porch.”
District Judge Bill O'Donnell signed the arrest warrant Thursday for Isaacson on a charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, intimidation of a witness or victim, criminal mischief and harassment.
The altercation may have occurred, documents said, because Isaacson was allegedly angry that his father had called police about him for an incident the previous day at their home.
In that case, police said, Isaacson is accused of threatening to beat up his father while holding a sledgehammer and pouring gasoline on the victim and chasing him around with a lighter.
He also allegedly got into his vehicle and attempted to run over his father while the older man was on a lawn mower. The father was apparently not injured.
Isaacson is charged in that incident with simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and harassment.
