Louis Donald Nagy

Louis Donald Nagy, 80, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Butler Health System.

He was born May 18, 1941, and was the son of the late Gus and Grace Nagy.

He graduated from Butler High School with the Class of 1959.

Don was a member of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and an elder.

Don loved people, and enjoyed making others laugh. He loved big trucks and fast cars. He worked for his dad at Gus Nagy Trucking, then started Don Nagy Trucking. He then worked for William J. Brown Trucking for 28 years.

Everyone knew him as “Charmer” on the CB radio. He was one of the founding members of FASH the Dump Division in 1969. He also belonged to the American Truck Historical Society and the Steel City Chapter.

His true passion was dancing. He was president of the Tri-State Music Association, and was also a member of the New Castle Country Music Association and Little Nashville Association. He also helped start the Country Music and Dance Club of Butler.

Surviving are his loving son, Donald G. (Kristie) Nagy; his granddaughter, Sierra; and his sister, June (Bill Ferguson) Nagy of Oakmont.

He will be forever missed by Peggy Nagy of Youngstown, Ohio, and Linda Pollock of Butler.

NAGY — A celebration of a new life for Louis Donald Nagy, who died Saturday, May 29, 2021, will be held for his family and friends at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.

Services are under the direction of SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
