PITTSBURGH — A 2011 Union High School graduate will sing “God Bless America” at PNC Park for the Pittsburgh Pirates home opener on Monday.

Senior Airman Vanessa Bartoe of Sigel, a member of the Bradys Bend American Legion Post 488, will sing right before the national anthem, from home plate in her Air Force uniform.

She is the daughter of Vince and Michelle Bartoe of Rimersburg, Clarion County.

Michelle Bartoe said her daughter was selected to sing through a recommendation from the Air Force. It will be her first time singing at a professional sports game.
