An increasing number COVID-19 cases have caused the Butler Public Library to offer no-contact only services for the rest of November beginning Monday.

According to an Instagram release from the library, due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the county, building access, including computer use and in-person genealogy research will not be available. Services offered will be limited to curbside book pickups, grab-and-go activities, virtual programs and reference questions and genealogy research vie email and telephone.

Staff will be available by telephone and email from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. The book drop will continue to open and returned materials will continue to be quarantined.

The other eight libraries in the Butler County Federated Library System — Cranberry, Evans City, Mars, North Trail, Prospect, Slippery Rock, South Butler Community and Zelienople — have not announced changes in their operations. Most are operating under reduced hours and services and asking visitors to wear a mask and follow CDC guidelines for social distancing.
