Pedestrian fatality under investigation in Chicora
CHICORA — Few details were available Sunday night about a pedestrian fatality that occurred around 2:30 a.m. that morning on South Main Street in Chicora that resulted in the closure of Route 68 for nearly five hours.
Chief Cody Craig, of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department, said the victim was declared dead on arrival.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident. In addition to PSP and Chicora VFD, Karns City Regional Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
Chicora Road was closed between the intersection of South Main Street and Medical Center Road and the intersection of Chicora and Medical Center roads until about 7:30 a.m. while the scene was cleared, Craig said.
No other details were available Sunday night.
