COVID-19 concerns close senior centers countywide
The eight senior centers in Butler County will be closing Tuesday until further notice, according to officials at the Butler County Area on Aging.
The decision to close was following instructions from the state, the agency said Monday.
At centers normally open Monday, such as Tanglewood in Butler, staff members were explaining the situations to participants.
In addition to activities, the centers serve lunch. Agency officials said they would be contacting those who use the center to see if they need food. A distribution plan then would be put into place.
Community mealsAdditionally, all free community meals served at local churchs throughout Butler during the week, will now be served to go. A news release issued Monday said that one free bagged meal will be provided per person at the regularly scheduled meal locations.
