Doris V. Shever, 75, of Johnstown, Pa., formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021.

Born March 25, 1946, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and M. Winona Shever, formerly of Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her special cousin, Lenora Foley, her life partner, Johnny Adams, and his son, Dan.

Doris is survived by her brother, Ed (Mary Eva) Shever and her nephew, Kirk Shever, all of Ellwood City; her niece, Kelsey (Chris) Suttles of Kentucky; Johnny’s daughter, Allie Adams and her son, Will, of Oregon; the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jay Family; and many friends.

Doris graduated in 1964 from Zelienople High School.

In 1968, she graduated with a B.S. in secondary English/reading from Clarion University, and went on to obtain her master’s degree through the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Penn State.

She was employed by the Conemaugh Valley School District in Johnstown for 35 years as an English teacher, and was involved in many extra-curricular activities. After retirement, Doris returned as a substitute teacher for many years.

She enjoyed music, traveling, slot machines and her Pfaltzgraff collection.

SHEVER — Services will be held privately for Doris V. Shever, who died Monday, March 29, 2021.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
