Jack E. Ort

Jack E. Ort, 79, of Hummelstown and formerly of Butler, gained the victory in his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday and now rests eternally in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born Dec. 17, 1938, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Esther B. (Locke) Ort.

Retired as a registered nurse from Butler Memorial Hospital and Allegheny Children's Home in Hummelstown, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1960 until 1964.

He was an avid woodworker and a lifelong fan of Pittsburgh sports.

Surviving are his wife of almost 60 years, Carol A. (Kincaid) Ort; his sister, Kathy (Robert) Campbell; his children, Daniel (Kristina) Ort, Mark (Kristin) Ort and Kelli (Chris) Chambers; and his grandchildren, Taylor Ort, Jack Ort, Jesse Ort, Livi Ort, Natalie Chambers and Jonathan Chambers; and his granddogs, Marley, Teagan and Reggie.

ORT — Private interment with military honors for Jack E. Ort, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pa.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Allegheny Valley School, 1291 Middletown Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036, or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 101 Erford Road, Suite 201, Camp Hill, PA 17011.Share condolences at BuseFuneralHome.com.
