Community members in Cranberry Township can now sign up to volunteer for this year’s Leaf Angel Program on the township’s website, according to a Tuesday news release.

The program matches local volunteers to township residents who need assistance raking leaves. Residents who need assistance can register starting Oct. 12. Availability of assistance depends upon number of volunteers who sign up.

Volunteers are required to use their own rakes and gloves, and must be 15-years-old or older, or accompanied by an adult. Volunteers can work in teams.

All leaves collected must be left at the curb for collection, deposited in yard waste carts or disposed of in biodegradable bags, per township requirements. Loose leaves or unapproved plastic bags will not be accepted.

Sports teams, schools, businesses or individuals can be credited with volunteer hours for participating.
