A cohort of businesses in Harmony is planning two fall events to spur more foot traffic in the farthest ends of the borough.

There will be two evening Moonlight Makers and Music Festivals in October — one Wednesday, Oct. 21, and the other Wednesday, Oct. 28. The event will feature shopping, handmade goods and live music under the stars, according to a promo for the two events.

Seth Murphy, owner of Wunderbar, said he is part of “Lower Harmony,” a group organized by business owners in the borough who are looking to expand the offerings to get more people to the far reaches of Harmony.

“I think everybody is doing food specials, music and market stuff,” Murphy said. “We just want to bring some attention down on that end of town.”

Murphy said there will be live music and entertainment and some vendors around the borough selling items alongside the businesses.

Restaurants — such as Union Brothers Brewing, Harmony Inn and Wunderbar — will have food and drink specials; but other businesses — such as like Harmony Emporium and LoHa BoHeme — will also be participating.

Murphy said the event “just sounded like something fun to do and give people something exciting to think about.”

“It's such a cool town, such a cool looking place and it'll be a cool little event. We're going to do some stuff to highlight that,” he added.

The Moonlight Makers and Music Festivals begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 and 28 in Harmony. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
