A band represented Butler County at a Nashville, Tenn., music awards ceremony Sunday, Sept. 20.

The Noble Hops earned three Josie Music Award nominations, and traveled to Grand Ole Opry for a ceremony Sunday. The nominations were for Song of the Year - Rock Duo/Group for the song “The Trunk”; Group of the Year - Rock Genre/Mix; and Fans Choice - Duo/Group.

The Josie Music Awards recognize and honor independent music and musicians globally. This is the 12th year for the organization.

The Noble Hops was formed in 2010 by Utah Burgess and is based in Sarver. The past 15 months has seen the band log 89 shows at 52 different venues from Franklin, Tenn., to Mansfield, Ohio, to Erie and Altoona. The Noble Hops has had five Josie Music Award nominations to date.
