Evans City hosting Daughters of American Revolution speaker
Stacy Stoughton, regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, will speak to the Evans City Area Historical Society at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at 204 S. Jackson Street in Evans City. The Community Room is in the rear of the building, and entry is through the side doors that face Jefferson or South Washington streets.
Stoughton will speak about the history of the George Washington monument in Forward Township and the history of the founding of the local chapter. She also will talk about other local activities, such as marking the graves of Revolutionary War soldiers. Stoughton also will explain the qualifications to join the DAR.
The public is welcome to attend.
