A new organization in the Karns City area is planning a family event for Sunday, Sept. 13.

Karns City Communities that Care is organizing KC Strong Community Day, to take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at Chicora Park.

The free event will have food and drinks for purchase from local businesses, information from local organizations about safe medication disposal, drug- and substance-free lifestyle choices and ways to get help. Organization representatives will be there with information about its programs. There will also be a bounce house for children.
