Love and appreciation for J.R.R. Tolkien’s work is shared among the folks that run the Bloom Cafe at Quality Gardens in Adams Township

That enthusiasm will manifest in the second Hobbit Festival at Quality Gardens, scheduled to be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.

The family-friendly fantasy festival will feature live music, artisan and alcohol vendors, cafe specials and many other activities.

Jamie Christy, manager of retail at Quality Gardens, said 700 people attended the first Hobbit Festival the greenhouse hosted in 2025.

Christy said many in the crowd wore costumes true to the event’s theme.

This year, the programming is generally the same, but there are more things to do for children, said Christy, from face painting to arts and craft activities.

The idea for the festival was inspired by a hobbit playhouse that was built at Groovy Plants Ranch in Ohio, according to Christy.

Tickets can be purchased through the greenhouse’s website.
