James ‘Jim’ Baronetski

Baronetski

James “Jim” Baronetski, 76, of West Sunbury, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him.

Born Oct. 30, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Jim was the son of the late Michael Baronetski and Mary (Dugas) Baronetski.

Jim graduated from Baldwin High School in 1968 and then from Slippery Rock State College in 1972. He went on to spend 35 years as an elementary school teacher with the Butler Area School District, dedicating much of his life to teaching and encouraging young people. Alongside his career in education, Jim was also co-owner of A Plus Landscaping, a business he operated with a good friend and fellow teacher.

In 1979, Jim married Marie (Bauer) Baronetski. Together, they built a home and a life that became a gathering place for family and friends. Whether it was a holiday, a summer afternoon, a game around the house or simply an excuse to spend time together, Jim enjoyed having the people he cared about close by. He also loved dancing with Marie, one of the many simple joys they shared throughout their life together.

Jim loved bowling, hunting, fishing and golfing, but what made those things especially meaningful to him was being able to share them with others. He could often be found on the water with a fishing rod nearby, out enjoying the outdoors, playing a game or teaching one of his grandchildren something he loved.

Over the years, many of his favorite hobbies became family traditions simply because “Pap Pap” took the time to bring the grandchildren along. Being a grandfather was one of Jim’s greatest joys. He took pride in teaching his grandchildren, cheering them on through milestones big and small, making them laugh and creating the kind of ordinary moments that become treasured memories.

To his grandchildren, he was simply Pap Pap — the one who taught them, played with them, took them fishing and made sure there was always something to do. And to Marie, he was the husband who still loved to take her hand and dance.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marie (Bauer) Baronetski; his children, Keith Baronetski, Kenny (Katrina) Baronetski, Curtis (Mindy) Baronetski and Kristin (Jay) Mohler; his grandchildren, Liam Mohler, Abel Mohler, Warren Baronetski, Rosaline Baronetski, Charli Baronetski and Mac Mohler; and his siblings, Donna (Larry) Rozanski, Michael (Rhonda) Baronetski and Lisa (Jeff) Long.

BARONETSKI — Arrangements for James “Jim” Baronetski, who died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A private celebration of life will be held with family and friends.
