Charles Wesley Harbaugh, 93, of Butler, formerly of Connoquenessing and the Evans City area, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 16, 2026, under the care of UPMC Passavant. He had a long battle with bronchiectasis.

Born Feb. 25, 1933, in Moon Run, Pa., he was the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Glass) Harbaugh.

He was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City. He was in the Graduating Class of 1951, Butler High School. He was a Butler County OHIA Dairy Tester from 1951 to 1954 and served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1954 to 1956. Charles retired in 1988, having worked as a welder at the AK Steel weld shop, Butler Works for 32 years.

He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, spending winters in Sebring and Clermont, Fla. He was a member of Butler American Legion Post 117, American Battlefield Trust, Flight 93 National Memorial, the USO, Butler Armco Association and American Red Cross.

He is survived by his children, Vicki (Kenneth) Frishkorn, of Zelienople, and Charles (Emerald) Harbaugh, of Cranberry Township; stepchildren, Arlene (Harry) Toner, of Butler, Patricia (Don) Rager, of Colorado, Daniel (Brenda) Lemmon, of Florida, and Gerald (Sharon) Lemmon, of Prospect; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Pam) Harbaugh, of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maggie (Farinelli) Harbaugh, whom he married April 13, 1954, and who died June 26, 2000; his second wife, Joan (Richardson) Lemmon, whom he married July 23, 2002, and who died Dec. 4, 2025; his daughter, Connie Schwirian, who died Nov. 2, 2015; and his brother, George Harbaugh.

HARBAUGH — Friends of Charles Wesley Harbaugh, who died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, will be received from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by military honors and the service, on Thursday, Aug. 20, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
