Claypoole

Deborah L. “Deb” Claypoole, 68, of Karns City, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday morning, Aug. 7, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Deb was born in Kittanning on Oct. 13, 1957, and was the daughter of the late Karl L. and Helen L. Cyphers Baker. She was a 1975 graduate of Freeport High School and, through her youth, attended Srader Grove Presbyterian Church.

Deb was known for her strong work ethic. She worked for Moonlight Mushrooms and later Creekside Mushrooms, as a forklift driver, then Home Depot, retiring in 2019.

Outside of work, Deb cherished spending time at home with her husband and beloved dogs. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening and riding her motorcycle. She especially looked forward to attending classic car shows with her husband, Ron, where they proudly displayed their 1974 Dodge Charger.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Claypoole, whom she married in Millers Eddy on Aug. 17, 1985. In addition to her husband, Deb is survived by her daughter, Danielle (Michael) Hite, of Sarver; her bonus children, Tracy Claypoole, of Petrolia, Gidget (Jason) McGhee, of New Castle, and Michael (Nicole) Claypoole, of Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren, Porschia, Dalton, Hunter, Victoria, Ashley, Andrew and Thomas; and two great-grandchildren, Onyx and Beckett. She was also looking forward to her third great-grandchild in January.

She is also survived by her brother, Keith (Linda) Baker, of Florida; two sisters, Lisa (David) Wilson, of Arnold, and Sharon (Bill) Dato, of North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Deb’s greatest legacy may be found in the way she gave of herself to others. She was a living donor, gifting bone marrow to her daughter, Dacia, and continued that selfless legacy following her passing by being an organ donor. Her generosity will live on in the lives she has touched and the lives that will continue because of her gift.

In addition to her parents, Deb was preceded in death by her daughter, Dacia Ray; and her sister, Karla Wood.

CLAYPOOLE — Funeral arrangements for Deborah L. “Deb” Claypoole, who died Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, are under the direction of HILE FUNERAL HOME OF KARNS CITY.

A celebration of Deb’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at New Life Christian Ministries, 139 Knoch Road, Saxonburg, with Pastor Barry Leicher Jr. officiating. If weather permits, bring your classic car.
