One Butler County business was awarded over $5,000 as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s second round of grants through the nation’s first Agricultural Innovation Grant Program.

Agricultural technology company Dream Invent Inspire, of Evans City, was awarded $5,247 to help fund an artificial intelligence system for vertical garden and crop management.

This is part of a broader $9.7 million investment that will support 97 projects and leverage $4.8 million in private investment — putting innovative technology into practice to help the state’s agricultural businesses.

Applications for the program’s third round of grants will be accepted beginning in September.
