Donald Sprouse

Sprouse

Donald E. “Don” Sprouse, 63, of Chicora, Concord Township, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, Aug. 12, 2026, in the comfort of his home, while in the company of his loving wife.

Donald was born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 3, 1962. He was the son of the late Fred D. and Margaret Holliday Sprouse.

Don was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1981 graduate of Riverview High School and graduated from Point Park University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. For many years, Don was employed as a project manager in the gas and oil industry. Following his early retirement, Don was self-employed as a contractor and builder and was well respected and highly trusted among his many clients. Because of his business, Don had a mutually devoted personal and business relationship with the Amish community in Smicksburg.

He enjoyed shooting skeet with his son, riding his Harley, camping and was a World War II history buff. He enjoyed working around his home and property, always keeping it in immaculate condition. Don was always ready, willing and able to help others who would call upon him for help and advice. He looked forward to breakfast with friends at Barnhart’s and, most especially, family gatherings. Don enjoyed traveling and always cherished the memories of his trip to Europe with his son on the Band of Brothers Tour. He loved his pets and enjoyed the company of his most recent dog, Claire.

Don is survived by his wife, Triscia (Courson) Bartley-Sprouse, whom he married in Foxburg on Oct. 19, 2024. Also surviving are two sons, Travis A. Sprouse and his wife, Jennifer, of Reading, and Jared J. Sprouse and his girlfriend, Lindsey Policz, of New Kensington; two grandchildren, Mila and Eli Sprouse; his stepchildren, Justin Bartley and his wife, Lauren, of Parker, Shayla Schuler and her husband, Mark, of Fenelton, Michael Tapling and his wife, Jessica, of North Carolina, and Sarah VanDerpol and her husband, Mitchell, of Virginia; and his stepgrandchildren, Joe, Adam and Beckett Bartley, Mia and Maren Schuler, Ophelia and Elliott VanDerpol and Magnolia and Charleston Tapling.

He is also survived by his siblings, Fred D. Sprouse and his wife, Jeanne, Sandra Sprouse Romitz and her husband, Richard, all of Allison Park, and Francis “Mick” Sprouse, of North Apollo; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom Courson, of St. Petersburg, Tim and Gaylene Courson, of Kossuth, Tammy and John Tasker, of Clintonville, Troy and Mary Courson, Terry Courson and Todd and Brenda Courson, all of Parker; a special aunt and uncle, Eddie and Shirley Sprouse, of New Kensington; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Don is also survived by his best friends, Roger “Vern” and Katrina Moore and Michael and Leslie Berger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel L. Sprouse.
