If you’re reading this sentence, you are reading a subtle act of rebellion. Why? Because this article was written without a trace of artificial intelligence.

Since tech companies like Google and Meta have spent so much money on this monstrosity, you cannot venture through a simple internet search without AI being forced upon you.

Its continued presence has removed our freedom of choice in search bars (since you cannot turn it off unless you use specific internet browsers), excelling the death of critical thinking and an overabundance of terribly designed posters flooding your Facebook feed.

To make matters worse, news outlets have reported Anthropic, the company behind the generative AI model called Claude, chopped up millions of rare and used books in order to train the robot — a process to “destructively scan” information.

As an avid reader, this news terrified me. Those familiar with dystopian novels like “Fahrenheit 451,” “1984,” “Brave New World” and “Player Piano” will feel similarly.

Have you noticed that when you ask a robot a question, it always tells you what you want to hear?

I am shedding light on this news in “Miller Minutes” because the rise of AI could mean the death of art and entertainment as we know it. It’s already happening.

But you, a powerful human being, can stop the madness by showing up for art! So, this is an encouragement to do something “out there” this weekend. Go to a real event, planned by humans, for humans. Read a book! Go to an art class … we have tons of them!

If you need me, I’ll be fighting the robots … and winning.

It’s Farm Show season!
