Annual North Washington Rodeo coming next week

The annual North Washington Volunteer Fire Department Rodeo is from Tuesday to Saturday, Aug. 18 to 22, at the North Washington Rodeo Grounds, 2225 Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township.

The event features world champion cowboys and cowgirls, as well as food and merchandise.

The rodeo includes bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down Roping, team roping, breakaway roping, cowgirl barrel racing and bull riding.

The event also includes performances by motorcycle trick riders Steel Rodeo and rodeo clown Brian Hope.

Other features are stick horse race before the rodeo; Kids Foot Race during intermission; and steer and gun raffles.

Gates open at 6 p.m. each night; the rodeo starts at 8 p.m., rain or shine.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $8 for children ages 4 to 12 through Sunday, Aug. 16, and $20 for adults and $10 for children beginning Monday, Aug. 17 Children younger than 4 are admitted free.
