Letters sent to Pennsylvanians regarding unclaimed property
The Pennsylvania Treasury Department recently mailed letters to nearly 64,000 people across Pennsylvania to let them know there is money for them to claim, valued from $500.01 up to $10,000 in unclaimed property.
Recipients of these letters must initiate a claim for their money online at patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property or by reaching out to the treasury directly at 800-222-2046.
Unclaimed property includes things like dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten stocks and more. It can also include physical assets, such as collectible coins, jewelry and savings bonds, that most often come to the treasury as the contents of safe deposit boxes.
