Mary Lou Cypher
Mary Lou Cypher, 82, of Butler, passed away into the presence of her Savior, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, faith and music, on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026.
Daughter of the late Al and Geraldine Mourer, Mary Lou dedicated her life to sharing her gifts with others. A former elementary school teacher and beloved piano teacher, she touched countless lives through her passion for music and education. Over her lifetime, her extraordinary talent as an accomplished pianist graced four different churches in the Butler area, where she faithfully used her God-given gifts to lead others in worship. Her devotion to her Savior was the anchor of her life and she served Him joyfully in all that she did.
Above all, Mary Lou cherished her family. She shared 55 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Neal. She was the loving mother of Neal Alan and Kristin, and mother-in-law to Keith Bunting. She was also the proud, happy grandmother to Keaton, Kara (Nick) VanWright and Kendall (Marcus) Nuñez; as well as a delighted great-grandmother to her great-grandson, Warren Nuñez.
She is survived by her loving husband, Neal; her children, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandson; her sister, Carol Ann (Jim) Hollobaugh, of Cabot; and her beloved nieces and nephew, extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss her music and warmth.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brother, Don Mourer; her sister, Jeanne Deal; and her nephew, Donny Deal.
