Divine Grace Parish opens for three days of family festival fun
Tents will line Saint Ferdinand Parish’s parking lot in Cranberry Township again as Divine Grace Parish hosts its annual family festival Friday to Sunday, Aug. 7 to 9.
The fan-favorite event is free and open to the public. Those attending can enjoy live entertainment, a variety of attractions, food, games, a white-elephant sale and fellowship.
The white elephant sale returns with over 15,000 square feet of high-quality used items, including tools, sports equipment, small kitchen appliances, baby items, decorations, toys, books and games. Indoor furniture is no longer being sold, according to the parish.
The money from the sale goes to fund the parish.
The organization has partnered with Penn Premier Shows to offer chance and physical games, like golf putting, baseball throwing competitions and spin-to-win games. It is also hosting a cornhole tournament, activities for children, basket raffles, bingo and a $15,000 cash raffle.
For parents looking for some family fun for their children, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh will offer two activities 5 to 7 p.m. Friday; Dominick the Magician will practice the art of illusion 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Saturday; and the National Aviary will offer a program on owls from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
Nightly dinner offerings include Italian dinner Friday, half a chicken barbecue dinner Saturday and stuffed pork chop Sunday. The meals are served in Oldenski Hall.
Live entertainment for the weekend includes Michelle’s Dance Center, SpinCycle/Acoustic Daze, Bell School of Irish Dance, Twice Shy band, the Wilmet Duo and Funky Uncles band.
