Michael E. Ortmann, 71, of Cabot, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born March 7, 1955, in Kittanning, he was the son of Robert E. Ortmann and Doris Jean Smith Ortmann.

Mike worked as a project engineer for AGR International and FS-Elliott, retiring in 2021. He was a member of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Parish — St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman, the R.C. Men’s Club and the Train Collectors Association. Mike enjoyed hunting, taking care of his yard, collecting trains, traveling, going to concerts, collecting lawn tractors, bird watching and enjoyed his puppies.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Peggy S. Ortmann; his children, Oksana Ortmann, of Cabot, Lena (Tyler) Abron, of Saxonburg, Katie Ortmann, of Penn Hills, Jonathan (Dana) Ortmann, of Cabot, Nicole Cingolana, of State College; two sisters, Robin L. (Carl) Wiles, of Cabot, and Joyce A. (Jim) Eich, of Gibsonia; seven grandchildren, Marina, Amari, Keyana, Alexander, Avery, Jack and Gianna; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

ORTMANN — Friends of Michael E. Ortmann, who died Friday, July 31, 2026, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg, Pa.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ward Stakem officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church in Herman.
