Karin Elisabeth Arnesen, a cherished mother, grandmother and beloved wife, passed away peacefully Friday, July 31, 2026, at the age of 94, in Zelienople, Pa.

Born Sept. 12, 1931, in Bad Bramstedt, Germany, Karin pursued a career as a physical therapist before immigrating to the United States. It was on Long Island, N.Y., that she met and married the love of her life, Christopher Arnesen, on April 14, 1962. Together, they built a life filled with love and dedication, celebrating 64 years of marriage.

Karin and Christopher resided in Sound Beach, N.Y., until 2016, when they moved to the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, Pa. Throughout her life, Karin was known for her outgoing, friendly and caring nature, touching the lives of all who knew her. She found joy in gardening, walking and was a devoted member of her Lutheran Church communities, both on Long Island and in Zelienople.

A testament to their unwavering love and strength, Karin and Christopher lovingly cared for their severely disabled son, Timothy, until his passing at the age of 15. Karin's enduring spirit and compassionate heart will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Christopher Arnesen; her loving daughters, Nora (Jim) Nealon and Sheila (Curt) Snyder; and her eleven cherished grandchildren, Luke (Xenia Cravetchi) Nealon, Brandi (Brittany) Beard, Kaija (Sean) Rothermel, Bradley Nealon, Kanis (Amanda Taylor) Nealon, Jessica Snyder, Shaniah Snyder, Caden Snyder, Jayme (Nick) Foor, Andrew (Stephanie) Snyder and Cory Snyder. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter, Petra Cravetchi; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews in Germany.

Karin was preceded in death by her beloved son, Timothy Arnesen; and her German siblings, Peter Kuehl (Giesela), Johanna Aschenberg (Heinz) and Helga Kuehl.

ARNESEN — A memorial service to celebrate the life of Karin Elisabeth Arnesen, who died Friday, July 31, 2026, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Seamen Memorial Chapel at Passavant Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople. Guests will be received in advance of the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. The memorial service will be livestreamed and available for viewing later at https://karinarnesen.nealon.us/

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karin's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, Rocky Point, N.Y., or Passavant Community, Zelienople, Pa.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
