The race for the Sprints series championship at Lernerville Speedway got a lot closer Friday, July 31.

Danny Kuriger’s 10th-place finish and Dan Shetler’s eight-place finish, combined with A.J. Flick’s did not finish means Flick’s lead is down to just one over Kuriger and four over Shetler.

Cody Bova won the Peoples main event Friday over Ryan Smith, and Butler’s Carl Bowser came in ninth.

In the Late Models feature race, Ken Schaltenbrand won and led a top-six grouping that featured four from Sarver, including Michael Norris, Travis Hayes and Joshua Powell. Schaltenbrand grew his points lead at the track to 10 over Levi Yetter.

Dalton Slack won the Modifieds main event over Garrett Krummert, who started the race 10th. Rex King Jr.’s points lead over Krummert sits at four after his sixth-place finish.

And Tyler Schneider won the Pro Stocks title over Rocky Kugel, while Jaocb Dietz’s fifth-place finish kept him two points ahead of Logan Koteles in the standings.
