Fay Collins

Collins

Fay J. Collins, 90, of Zelienople, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026, while under the compassionate care of Passavant Retirement Community, which the family would like to thank for their loving care.

Born Aug. 24, 1935, in Middle Lancaster, Fay was the daughter of the late Ralph and Beulah (Domhoff) Bieber. She graduated from Zelienople High School with the Class of 1953.

Fay dedicated 20 years of service as the manager of Viola’s Market in Evans City. She was a devoted caregiver who selflessly cared for family members, friends and neighbors throughout her life. A woman of deep faith, Fay was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, in Middle Lancaster.

Fay was an exceptional bowler and found great joy in gardening, canning and searching flea markets, antique stores and auctions for treasured pieces of Jewel Tea china. She also loved playing cards with her lady friends. Fay especially enjoyed helping her sister, Sally, with the cider press and making apple butter each season.

Fay shared a beautiful 60-year marriage with her beloved husband, William. Together, they spent winters in Florida and embraced every opportunity to travel, with Fay often taking the wheel of their motor home. Their many adventures included trips to Canada, vacations out West, time spent at camp and countless happy days boating and water skiing with friends in Glenwillard. She treasured these experiences and the memories they created with those she loved.

Fay is survived by her children, Cindy Gilliland (partner, Brian Semian), Raymond (Deborah) Collins and David (Vanessa) Collins; her grandchildren, William Gilliland (partner, Devon Lyons), Lisa (James) Bills, Christopher Collins (Maddie) and Michael Collins; her great-grandchildren, Eva Gilliland and Isaac Bills; and her sisters, Charlotte Bupp and Sally Davis.

In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William A. Collins; her brothers, Gerald, Clare “Bud,” Robert and William Bieber; her sisters, Erma Plesnick, Olive Farinelli and Janet Bintrim; and one grandson.
