After months of delay, Butler city officials are moving forward with the plan to modernize parking using digital kiosks and online payment software.

City council voted unanimously at a meeting Thursday evening, July 23, to approve a $70,471 payment to Butts Ticket Systems for parking kiosks and related equipment and software. Council also voted unanimously to approve an agreement with Butts for the use of an integrated app, ParkMobile, at no additional cost.

Dandoy said the payment represents about seven kiosks and associated equipment. While he was unsure of a specific installation date, he said it would be soon.

ParkMobile will allow residents who use the kiosks to pay and extend parking through their phones. The agreement with Butts lasts three years and then will require yearly renewal, Dandoy said.
