Beatrice Mashuda
Beatrice D. Mashuda, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, while under the care of Hemsley House of McCandless, where she had been a resident for three years.
Born Sept. 30, 1928, in Princeton, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Jake and Ida (Kwiatowski) Soda.
Beatrice married her husband, Ernie Mashuda, on Sept. 25, 1948. She traveled with him from Wisconsin as he built multiple sections of the turnpike, eventually settling in Cranberry Township in 1960, where she raised her family.
Beatrice faithfully attended and played the organ at both Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, and Saint Mark the Evangelist Parish, Saint Kilian Church, for many weddings, funerals and weekend masses. Beatrice was instrumental to St. Ferdinand Church since the early years, volunteering countless hours to support the church in any way she could.
She was also a member of the Cranberry Township 55+ Club. Beatrice enjoyed making birthday cakes for her family and loved baking, especially cookies. She was always found at the dessert table for the clubs, cutting cakes or pies or putting cookies out on a tray. Beatrice also loved being outside to work in her flower garden and enjoyed sewing. Her faith and her family were very important to her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Donna (Jeff) Meyerl, Mark (Erin) Mashuda and Debbi (Bernie) Cybach; her nine grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Ridgeo, Jaclyn (Evan) Ring, Carlye (Matthew) Henderson, Lucas (Lauren Capozzi) Cybach, Tessa (Mike Koller) Cybach, Tyler Cybach, Jacob Mashuda, Samuel (Megan) Mashuda and Emily (Tom) Day; and her nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest D. “Ernie” Mashuda, who passed away Aug. 18, 1984; her infant son, James Mashuda; and her siblings, Robert Soda, Virginia Rozek, Phyllis Bornick, Iszy Golz and Loretta Seman.
The Mashuda family would like to thank all those who cared for Beatrice, especially Bridges Hospice.
