Police: Butler man imprisoned woman in home while she had seizure
A Butler man imprisoned a woman inside his apartment while she had a seizure, police said.
Larry Anthony Alexander, 54, was charged Monday, June 29, with misdemeanor false imprisonment following an incident early Monday morning in the 300 block of West Brady Street.
Police were dispatched at 3:43 a.m. after Alexander reportedly called 911 and a woman could be heard in the background yelling “let me out.” Police said they could hear the yelling coming from a second-story window when they responded.
Alexander and a woman exited the residence when ordered by police.
The woman told police Alexander began acting paranoid and would not allow her to leave for about two hours, according to an affidavit in the case. The woman said Alexander blocked her with his body and placed his arms against the wall to prevent her from leaving. Alexander also would not allow the woman to use the bathroom, police said.
Police said the stress of the situation allegedly caused the woman to have a seizure and Alexander began blocking her exit again when she recovered. Police said Alexander also placed a board in the door that prevented the woman from leaving.
Alexander is being held in Butler County Prison on $30,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, July 6, before District Judge William Fullerton.
The woman declined medical attention for her earlier seizure.
