West Penn Energy Fund has awarded Butler Farm Show a $35,000 grant to support energy efficiency upgrades to several buildings on Farm Show grounds.
The grant will enable the Farm Show to reduce its energy consumption by completing lighting upgrades to the horse barn and livestock show area, the restaurant building and the public restroom in time for this year’s farm show starting Aug. 10, according to a June 30 news release.
“We are incredibly grateful to the (West Penn Energy Fund) for this funding,” said Elizabeth Werner, Farm Show board member. “For 78 years, we have been educating the public on agriculture and we’re very excited for this opportunity to expand the conversation to energy efficiency.”
