Evans City plans semiquincentennial celebration
Evans City is planning a sing-along event to commemorate the U.S. semiquincentennial.
Evans City Mayor Dean Zinkhann said the celebration will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, in Evans City Cemetery, 8600 Franklin Road in Jackson Township. The rain location is St. Peter Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren Street in Evans City.
Zinkhann said Circle of Friends Choir will perform patriotic songs a cappella and the borough will host patriotic trivia throughout the event. There will also be other musician performances, including Jen Purvis, Four’s Company Barbershop Quartet and Waldo Young.
The event is free and open for anyone to attend.
