Bogan 102nd birthday
Dennis J. Bogan, of Penn Township, celebrated his 102nd birthday on June 9. A weeklong celebration was held during daylight hours at his home.
Bogan was born on June 9, 1924, in Penn Township.
He married the former Nancy A. McElhinny on Dec. 16, 1952, at St. Matthias Church in Evans City. She is deceased.
Bogan has eight children, Dennis of Butler, Mark (deceased), Brian, Eric and Harry, all of Butler, Beverly Park of Pittsburgh, Julie McNamara of Butler and Tom of Albuquerque, N.M.
He also has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is a retired bricklayer and stone mason.
He is a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic, VFW Post 249, American Legion Post 778 and Penn Township Veterans Association.
He is a 1942 graduate of Mars High School and a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater.
