Pittsburgh man crashed through Butler man’s living room before arrest

A homeowner was sitting on the living room couch of his Taft Street home when a Pittsburgh man fleeing Butler police busted into his residence and struggled with officers.

From inside the residence, police then arrested Allen Bruce Coleman Jr., 41, placing him into handcuffs and escorting him from the home. Police shattered the homeowner’s glass storm door.

The homeowner told police he knew of Coleman Jr. and had allowed him to use his driveway but didn’t know his real name.

Police said Coleman ran to the Taft Street home after police spotted him on West Wayne Street. Charging documents indicated Coleman ran when he saw police surveying the area.

The homeowner was sitting on a couch when Coleman and police came crashing through the door, police said. Police explained that Coleman was using the back storm door as a barrier, and police shattered the storm door.

At this point, Coleman ran inside, police said.

Coleman continued to resist as he was detained and escorted out of the man’s living room, police said.

Coleman was found with 10 stamp bags of fentanyl, 32 grams of crack cocaine and $800. He was charged Tuesday with felony possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and one misdemeanor count each of resisting arrest, evading arrest and controlled substance possession.

In addition to what was found in Coleman’s possession, police later searched the vehicle and found $12,223. Police also contacted the vehicle’s owner who said she had loaned the vehicle to Coleman for the last two weeks but had not been able to reach him to return the vehicle.

Coleman is being held in Butler County Prison on a $200,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. June 29 before District Judge William Fullerton.
