Pfeifer Farm wedding venue application reviewed
MIDDLESEX TWP — A conditional use application for the planned Pfeifer Farm wedding venue was reviewed at a public hearing before the Middlesex Township board of supervisors Wednesday, June 18.
At the hearing, Donald Trant, project manager for NIRA Consulting Engineers, explained the venue, which is located on a 60-acre parcel along West Cruikshank Road, would use an existing barn and transform it into a wedding venue.
Trant also emphasized the venue would maintain the land’s rural character, which pleased several hearing attendees.
Scott Gongaware, a neighbor of both the proposed wedding venue site and owners Alex and Emma Stobert, said he was worried the property would turn into a suburban development and he was relieved by the plan to keep the area rural.
“We were afraid that with some of these fields over here, they’d sell the property and there’d be 30 or 40 cracker jack homes just plotted right down,” Gongaware.
Gongaware also said he supported his neighbors’ venture and believed it would be a good addition to the township.
“It’s gonna add charm. It’s gonna add character to the whole area,” Gongaware said.
“I’ve been surprised by how many people emailed me and said this is the sort of development we should have in the township,” township resident Peter Walker said.
After expressing a few concerns about noise, Walker expressed his personal support for Pfeifer Farm.
“I just think it’s a great initiative to have in the township,” he said.
The Pfeifer Farm conditional use application will be under consideration at the board of supervisors meeting on Wednesday, July 1, which is listed as a work session meeting.
