New gym coming to Cranberry
Pittsburgh-based Mecka Fitness will open its third location this fall at 700 Thomson Park Drive in Cranberry Township. The 6,250-square-foot location is projected to bring 50 jobs to Butler County.
Mecka’s full lineup of classes will be available at the Cranberry location. That lineup includes BodyLab, a class that mixes treadmill work and strength training, RowFit and yoga.
In addition to those classes, two special small-group programs — Strength School for Women and Only Dads — will start the day the gym opens, which has yet to be determined. The classes will run as six-to-eight week recurring cohorts in which members train together and build accountability with each other. Programs for children and teenagers and Fitt 55 classes for adults 55 and older will also be available.
Founded in 2014, Mecka Fitness has two locations: one in Mt. Lebanon and one in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. The Cranberry location is Mecka’s first outside Allegheny County.
