Pittsburgh man pleads guilty to weapons theft from Mars store
A Pittsburgh man pleaded guilty Wednesday, June 3, to possessing firearms stolen from a Butler County store, according to a Thursday, June 4, news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
On March 17, 2025, Jaemir Beard, 19, of the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, was found along with two juveniles possessing six firearms stolen from an unnamed store in Mars.
Beard and one of the juveniles were attempting to sell the firearms over social media and through text messaging, according to the news release. Court records show Beard possessed stolen Sig Sauer and Glock 9 mm pistols. He was also in possession of a key to a stolen vehicle used in the crime.
He pleaded guilty to one count before U.S. District Judge Robert J. Colville.
Beard is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 1. The maximum sentence is up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
The case was prosecuted by U.S. attorney Barbara K. Doolittle. Northern Regional police, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also contributed to the investigation.
