Teen taken to hospital following Saturday crash in Connoquenessing Township
A 16-year-old boy was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh after a two-vehicle crash Saturday, May 30, in Connoquenessing Township, according to state police.
Police said the boy was a passenger in a Buick LE Sabre that turned in front of a Ram truck at the intersection of Evans City and Shannon roads. The crash was reported at around 6:30 p.m.
The driver of the Buick LE Sabre, Alexander J. Davis, 18, of Vandergrift, sustained a suspected minor injury but refused emergency transport, according to a crash report.
The driver of the truck, Justin W. Charlton, 46, of Butler, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
Police said the impact caused Davis’ vehicle to turn 180 degrees, and caused Charlton’s vehicle to strike a guardrail.
Butler Ambulance Service, Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company and MD Hitch and Towing Recovery assisted at the scene.
