Harmony fire mostly contained, no injuries on site
HARMONY — Multiple fire stations responded to a fire in Harmony, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch.
The fire was reported just after noon, Monday, May 18, at 223 Mercer St. Heavy smoke was reported in the attic above Rodgers Brothers Inc.
At 1:10 p.m., Harmony Fire Chief Rob Reeb said most of the fire had been contained. He said the cause of the fire is still unknown, but it started in the roof line of the building.
There were no injuries reported.
“I believe there were workers on the roof at the time the fire started,” Reeb said.
He said he saw at least 10 employees running out of the building when he arrived.
Firefighters had to pull the ceilings on the third floor to get to fire in the attic, Reeb said.
