It was a record-breaking week for two Mars track and field athletes.
Colton Rearick broke Zach Leachman’s marks, set in 2019, in the boys 1600-meter race and 1-mile with times of 4:20.33 and 4:21.88, respectively, at the Pine-Richland Invitational.
And Riley Carrel broke her girls pole vault record twice — first at the Northern Area Last Chance Meet with a 9-9.5, then again at the Fairview Last Chance Invitational with a 10-0 and qualified for the WPIAL championships later this week.
