Butler County Bureau of Elections notified the public of a printing error in roughly 50 absentee or mail-in ballot envelopes Friday, May 8.

According to the bureau, less than one percent of purple declaration envelopes are missing the address for the bureau.

The county is working with the U.S. Postal Service’s Pittsburgh and New Castle distribution centers. All post offices in Butler County have been provided with address labels to assist impacted voters. The Postal Service said it will deliver the envelopes regardless of the error.

The bureau also asked voters to check that the mailing address is present. If missing, voters should write the bureau’s physical address — 227 W. Cunningham St., Butler, PA 16001 — or mailing address — P.O. Box 1208, Butler, PA 16003.

Voters can check the status of their ballots using the Department of State ballot tracker website. Voters should contact the bureau of elections with any additional questions.
