Butler County golf courses: 4 easy par-5s in the area to get a confidence boost
Not all par-5s are unbeatable monsters. Some can give a golfer an opportunity to shake off a bad bogey the hole before or build momentum with an layup of a birdie opportunity.
What are some of the easiest par-5s in Butler County? Here’s what four of the area’s courses have to offer:
No. 1, 440 yards: You don’t have to wait long to get an easy chance at a birdie from this 440-yarder off the blue tees.
“I think it’s hole No. 1,” assistant general manager Josh DeNinno said. “Long before coming to work at Conley, I’ve enjoyed this opening hole. It’s a short par-5, and although guarded by bunkers, the green is reachable in two (strokes). Still areas where you can miss and not be too penalized. A great opening hole to score and ease your way into your round.
No. 10: “Just to the yardage, straightaway hole,” course general manager Terry Rottman said. “The first shot’s uphill and the second shot’s downhill into the green.”
No. 6 West, 485 yards: It’s a straight fairway that includes trees on the left side.
“It has a level green,” course owner Eric Krenitsky said. “After hitting my driver, I usually go with a 3-wood, then a wedge or a 9-iron.”
No. 12, 498 yards: This is one you can look for a birdie, a reachable par-5. Suncrest’s website calls the green “small and not an easy target,” but it’s a straight shot down the fairway.
“You’ve got a lot of room to work with off the tee, and even though there’s some elevation change, it’s reachable in two,” DeNinno said.
