Butler Township is hosting its annual “Guys who Grill” event benefiting the Butler Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation from 5 to 8 p.m. May 30 at Preston Park.

The event features about 20 local male chefs from the area, including City of Butler Mayor Bob Dandoy, Jeff Double of All About Reclaimed and Aaron Steinheiser from Cleveland-Cliffs. The chefs will pick a dish of their choice to serve attendees.

The event raises money for the Butler Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation Kids’ Weekend Backpack Program, which provides a weekly bag of snacks and meals to elementary school students in need. Last year’s event raised $6,600 and saw nearly 200 attendees.

Tickets are $25 presale and $30 at the door. They can be purchased at the Butler Township Municipal Building, Cummings Coffee & Candy-West and Martin’s Sales & Service.

Tickets include dinner, music, the opportunity to take part in fundraising games and the chance to win a compact wood-fired pellet grill. Attendees can also vote for the people’s choice award winner among the chefs.
