A 4-year-old from West Sunbury is in the running to be featured in a Ranger Rick magazine — and he is now nearing the final rounds of the competition.

Theodore “Teddy” O’Malley is running for Junior Ranger Champion, a contest hosted by Jr. Ranger that nets the winning explorer $20,000, an exclusive wildlife experience with Jeff Corwin and an appearance in a Ranger Rick Magazine.

Teddy loves animals with his whole heart, but he also has a big personality and is always looking for his next friend. He can turn a quick stop at a store into a 20-minute conversation with someone new. Whether he’s talking about butterflies, ponies, fishing, worms or frogs, he makes connections everywhere he goes, according to his mother, Kelsey O’Malley.

Voting is open until May 7, and votes can be submitted online at https://jr-ranger.org/2026/theodore-7b2e.
