HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Community Band will perform its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, at the Harrisville Fire Hall, 313 E. Mercer St.

The band is directed by Jim Jaskowak, of Jackson Center, a retired music educator for Grove City Area School District. The band is composed of area amateur musicians from teenagers to senior citizens. Two founding members of the 61-year-old band — Judy Critchlow and Karen McKnight — still play.

Some of the selections the band will play include, “Shield of Liberty March,” “Assurance,” “Cavalcade of America” and “Walt Disney Overture.”

The event is free. Refreshments will be available at intermission. Any donations for the refreshments benefit the fire department. Free will donations at the door benefit the band to help defray the cost of music and other expenses, said an email from the band.
