Cranberry Artists Network announces May gallery
CRANBERRY TWP — Marian Sallade and Deb Letterie are the featured artists for May’s Cranberry Artists Network gallery.
Sallade said her medium of choice is pastel for outdoor plein air painting, also known as open-air painting.
“It’s a challenge to get a painting completed before the light changes,” she said. “My favorite part of being an artist is the freedom to do it my way. The trees may be green, but I can paint them orange.”
Letterie said, “This exhibit is a brief diary (of) my travels ranging from Colorado to Pennsylvania, West Virginia, (the) French Alps and beyond.”
Letterie, who has a Bachelor of Fine Art degree, said she finds oils and soft pastels to be the most fun mediums.
The gallery is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road.
