South Butler Community Library nearly reached its $32,000 goal in its annual community fundraising campaign this year. A donation from PennEnergy brought its total amount well past that goal.
The library raised $31,960 from Nov. 1 through Jan. 15. A matching donation of $7,500 brought the total raised to $39,460.
According to the library, this is its most successful fundraising campaign since 2020.
Each year, the library board fundraising goal is about $60,000. The money is used for general operations, offering expensive digital resources like Libby, supporting learning programs for adults and children, and keeping lending materials current to meet community's needs.
